On Tuesday, March 4 Donald Trump gave his address to Congress to speak about the accomplishments made thus far. Since he has only been in office for 2 months this was not a State of the Union address. Before this event began I knew that democrats were going to try and ridicule him during his speech, and they did not disappoint. Almost as soon as the even began Rep. Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, was asked to leave the even for being disruptive. He stood up as President Trump started his Speech Rep. Green stood up and yelled that Trump didn’t have the “mandate” to cut the programs his administration is accused of cutting, After repeatedly being told to sit down and stop being disruptive, which he refused to do, he was elected from the event where he told reporters Trump was cutting Medicare and Social Security. Trump has been accused of these claims since his first presidency, even though Trump has denied them.

Rep. Al Green also told reporters that he would be filing articles of impeachment against Trump, although he give the reason. Since the Republicans have both the House and the Senate the chances of an impeachment going through are very slim. Rep. Green wasn’t the only democrat who made there unhappiness with President Trump known. Many were holding signs calling Trump a lia or listing programs that needed saving. Times when Trump received applause the democrats were sure to make their presence known by booing. It was clear that no matter what Trump did or said they were not going to support him.

During the Biden presidency many of his policies seemed to be hurting the American people. When asked about this he told the people that they needed to time to work and that the country would not get better overnight. Now that his presidency is over, and his policies never started to make things better, they will not give Trump the same benefit of the doubt and give him time for his policies to take effect and start working, Trump made a statement saying that even if he cured a disease the Democrats would still ridicule him. Nobody is expecting to agree with everything he does or every policy he has implemented, but to dismiss them all is not working in there in favor.

It is clear that most media outlets are still against President Trump and still support Democrats. The day after Trump’s speech many news outlets came out with their fact checks. I always have a hard time reading these only because I don’t understand where they are getting their facts from. In some cases, even if the numbers are off, the surrounding situation is correct but they will still mark it as a false claims. For instance, Trump has repeatedly stated that the Biden administration has given Ukraine $350 billion in aid, which is not correct. The number is closer to $200 billion, but the point that Trump is making remains the same.

President Trump began his speech declaring “America is back” telling the American people he won the electoral vote and the popular vote, by a landslide. Democrats of course have tried to claim the election wasn’t won by a landslide. They then wouldn’t be able to claim that the majority of Americans agree with there message and are against Trump’s ideas to change America. All the way up to the day of the election we were told that it was going to be an extremely close race and that no polls could determine who would win. Compared to what we were told the results of the election were definitely a landslide and President Trump was without a doubt the clear winner.

During the speech President Trump touted all of his policies he has implemented to make this country better. News outlets fact checked every claim and of course tried to say how Trump was wrong and that his policies were hurting this country and not what the American people wanted. One of the biggest problems we have in our country right now is the national debt we are in. One of Trump’s campaign promises was to try and combat the national debt and he has been working on doing that.

Any finding that DOGE has claimed they have found many news outlets touts as a false claim under there fact checks. DOGE has claimed they have found fraudulent spending by some agency’s as well as social security payments being made for people who are as old as 150. Fact checks have claimed this information is misleading even though information from the Social Security administration shows that almost 100,000 people who are over the age of 99 are currently receiving benefits. The same “misleading” information was also claimed about the Paris Climate Accord, a program President Trump has pulled our country out of.

There are many programs that DOGE and President Trump feel are not necessary and wastefully costing taxpayers billions of dollars. Many Americans agree with a government review and think it is past due. Joe Biden wastefully spend money during his administration which caused the national debt to drastically rise even higher. Joe Biden spend money on the Department of Education, to bailout banks, pay student loans debts, giving aid to other country’s such as Ukraine, along with a lot of other programs. This spending only hurt the American people by causing inflation to rise and diminishing the people’s purchasing power. Our country would not be able to make it through another administration of this blind spending. We need someone who can look at where tax payers dollars are being spent.

Another policy change implemented by President Trump that has seen a lot of backlash from Democrats is ending DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion). This is a policy that I didn’t much understand when it was implemented and agree with Donald Trump ending it. This policy has caused more confusion for companies, forcing to them conduct there business to follow certain aspects as well as hiring based on who they have employed rather than their qualifications. This policy caused confusion and I personally believe made discrimination worse in this country. In 2022 a Transgender women was was arrested and placed with the female inmates since they identified their gender as a women. During there incarceration the transgender women, who was born as a man, was accused of sexually assaulting several of the female inmates. There have been several cases similar to this situation.

President Trump recently signed an executive order banning transgender women from playing in female sports, (“No Men In Women’s Sports Executive Order” Signed by Trump). There have several cases of Transgenders women acting inappropriately in the females locker room. However, when complaints are filed they are told there is nothing that can be done about because of the DEI policy. Decisions are made based on what gender people identify with rather than how they were born, which is the reason many of these cases were allowed to happen. I personally believe this policy has gotten out of hand and has caused discrimination to get worse.

This policy has even entered our school system and starting effecting decision made by children. Schools started telling students, some as young as elementary students, that they don’t have to remain the gender they are born as, they have a right to choose. Many people, myself included, feel that this doctrine is being pushed on students. It is almost like they are making them feel like there is something wrong with them if they want to remain the same sex as they were born. Another problem with this is that the parents of these students have no say in the matter. If a student says they want to have a sex change the school will help them and not tell there parents about it. Schools are supposed to be there to teach these kids, not help them determine life choices, that is the job of the parents.

President Trump also wants to make it illegal for doctors to give sex change surgeries to minors. This is something that seems like common sense to me. A minor should not be allowed to make a life changing decision such as this one until they are an adult and parent’s should not allow it to happen. A child’s mind is not fully developed and kids always do things that they end up regretting later in life, unfortunately this is something they can’t take back once it’s done. Child have to take puberty blockers, testosterone injections, and other treatments before they get the surgery, which can have a number of different side effects. When a child decides they want to have a sex change they are not aware of what actually goes into getting one and the damage it can potentially have. Once they have the surgery and get older they might end up regretting their decision, as has happened in many cases. This policy and our society is forcing these decisions on kids. If it is something they truly want they will still be able to do it when they are adults, this is something a child should never do and making it illegal for doctors to do it is something that is needed.

President Trump also discussed his implementation of Tariffs and how it will benefit the American people. Trump has stated that it may hurt Americans for a short period but the long-term effects it will have will help this country. Democrats have been telling the American people that these tariffs will not only cause economic damage to our country will cause us to lose alliances with other countries. This is just another example of how they using fear to scare Americans into supporting Donald Trump and his policies. That being said not everyone agrees with Trump’s decision to implement tariffs on other countries but I agree with his reasoning for do it as well as what he expects the outcome will be.

This country imports much more than exports, causing a large deficit. Many of our products in this country we import and manufacturing has slowly been on the decline. If we are to make this country economically strong again we need to export more than we import, and Trump’s tariffs is the first step to making this happen. During his first administration he cut the corporate tax rate to 20%. These tax cuts allowed companies to expand there businesses which increased jobs. Money was put back into our industry through investments which encouraged to businesses to start as well as the expansion of existing ones. Tariffs will encourage businesses to start buying American again instead of relying on imports. As American businesses continue to grow the amount we export will also grow. The long-term effects from these tariffs will eventually help the American economy.

Trumps speech was met with a lot of applause. People feel that our country is on the right track and that many of the policies he has implemented were needed. Democrats need to realize that the way the Biden administration was doing things was failing this country and its people. Donald Trump is keeping his campaign promises that he made to the American people. The majority of Americans agree with his decision and feel that this country is heading in the right direction. If democrats continue to ridicule him for every decisions he makes they will not only keep dividing this country but they will cause it harm.

The democrats were not able to hold their own people accountable. Towards the end of Joe Biden’s term he was causing this country harm and didn’t do anything to stop it. Instead, they kept telling the American people that everything was fine. People started to see how Joe Biden’s mind was deteriorating and he was unable to make decisions. The democrats continued to tell people that Joe Biden was in the best condition he has ever been in and that Donald Trump was the threat to our country. They even claimed that Trump needed to see a doctor to make sure he was mentally fit to stand office. After Joe Biden was showing clear signs that he wasn’t fit they wouldn’t expect the same, for him to see a doctor. Joe Biden started to become an embarrassment to this country and the fact that democrats did nothing about it is one of the main reasons why Donald Trump won the election.

People have lost faith and hope in the Democrat party and they began hard to trust. They constantly touted misinformation on stories that painted them in a bad light but it became to hard to hide. There only message was to attack Donald Trump and the Republicans and that is still there only message. Donald Trumps speech and the way democrats acted continues to show that they don’t have the American peoples best interest in mind. There are many things people aren’t going to agree with that Donald Trump is doing, but that doesn’t mean every decision is wrong. If they were to work with Republicans and Donald Trump more people would be more willing to listen to them regarding decisions they don’t agree with.

As it stands right now the majority of the American people are happy with the job President Trump is doing. I think this is something our country needs. We were becoming a joke to the rest of the world. Many countries were taking advantage of us. We were not as economically strong as we once were. This country needed a change and it is time that we let Donald Trump do what he promised he was going to do and what he was elected to do. It is not about making other countries happy or how they will look at us but doing what is best for the American people. He has only been president for 2 months and we need to give him a chance for his policies to work. Everybody wants the same thing but nobody has any real plan on how to make that happen, except for Trump. You may not like how he goes about doing his job but you don’t have to, the only thing that matters is the results he gets.
