Donald Trump has been president for 2 months now. The beginning of his presidency, as expected, has been filled with a lot of controversy. Everything he does the Democrats criticize claiming he is going against what the American people want. Considering the same thing was done during his last presidency I did not expect anything different. The problem is he is doing what he said he was going to do, he is keeping his campaign promises. The democrats seem to forget that Donald Trump not only win the election but that it wasn’t even close. So why do they continue to attack him for everything he does.

The first campaign promise he kept was deporting illegal immigrants. As soon as this started happening the Democrats started to criticize him. They claimed his actions were inhumane and against the best interest of this country. Why the Democrats were surprised this happened is something I don’t understand. Compared to the last 4 years we had this country definitely needs to make a change and start doing something different. However, they won’t even give his policies his chance to work, Some of the biggest controversies occurring right now are the Ukrainian war and DOGE.

President Trump and Zelenskyy Oval Office Meeting

President Zelenskyy came to the white house on Friday discuss a a cease fire with President Trump. Part of this deal was that President Zelenskyy was supposed to sign a mineral deal with the US. However, talks broke down towards the end of the meeting and Zelenskyy was asked to leave the White House as tensions grew. Immediately after the meeting the Democrats started to criticize Donald Trump, calling him anti-American and one of Putin’s agents. A tense shouting match between the two in the oval office painted Donald Trump in the light that he was completely wrong and that he should have bowed down to Zelenskyy. There response to this made it clear that democrats aren’t working in the best interest of the country, they only want to against Donald Trump, no matter what it is.

During the oval office meeting Donald Trump told Zelenskyy that he was being disrespectful. JD Vane made his opinion known that Zelenskyy has not said thank you to America for any of the things we have done. Trump told Zelenskyy “You’re gambling with World War III, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have”. Zelenskyy told President Trump that he didn’t feel a cease fire would ever happen because Putin would not be able to keep his word. The impression I got is that Zelenskyy doesn’t want a cease fire to happen, he wasn’t America to fight his battle for him.

The last 4 years Zelenskyy has been given everything he has asked for. Joe Biden sent more aid to Ukraine then all other countries combined. Now Zelenskyy expects Amercia to continue to give more aid with no plan on how to end this war. Ukraine may be an ally of the United States but they are not are responsibility, we can only do so much but there has to come a point when enough is enough. Donald Trump has finally said enough. One of his campaign promises was to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, and that is what he is doing. The fact that Zelenskyy isn’t willing to have a cease fire because of what he thinks Putin will do and that he expects the United States to continue to do everything he asks is disrespectful. He is not appreciative of what we have already done. He shown this by visiting the UK prime minister immediately after the white house visit.

As the Democrats pointed out the UK welcomed Zelesnkyy with open arms in comparison to his US visit. The UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, agreed to give Ukraine a £2.26bn loan. As Donald Trump pointed out most of the aid given to Ukraine from the EU was in forms of loans, money that will be paid back. The way Zelesnkyy expects the US to support them and keep granting them aid I am not too hopeful that he will pay back any of the aid he has received. This was why Donald Trump wanted to sign the mineral deal, to recuperate some of the funds that have already been given.

The UK Prime Minister told Ukraine that they will continue to support them, even sending troops if they needed to. He has agreed to call a Summit between European and Canadian leaders to discuss giving support and working on a way to bring this war to an end. Even though democrats disagree with the way Donald Trump handled the White House visit with Zelesnkyy I agree with him, as I believe most Americans do, and think this course of action is long past due.

Donald Trump has told Zelenskyy that the only way he will continue to make a deal with him is if he apologizes for the way he acted. If he doesn’t there is a possibility that aid will be completely cut off. Anyone who watched the interview in the oval office can see that Zelesnkyy was disrespectful and doesn’t respect our country or its leaders, he feels entitled to have the world do his battles for him, especially the United States. Donald Trump ran on a “America First” campaign and this is a step at putting America first.

DOGE and Cutting Federal Programs

One of the biggest problems in our country is the national debt, which continues to grow. The last administration did not do much to help this problem, getting us involved with wars that we are continuing to aid. Donald Trump made a campaign promise to figure out how to combat the amount of national debt and now that he has figured out a way to do that the Democrats are criticizing him for his solution. Donald Trump created a new agency called DOGE, Department of Government Efficiency, and appointed Elon Musk to run this department. Its purpose is to look at all federal agencies and cut jobs where they believe government spending is being wasted. This is something I think is long past due and our government is famous for wastefully spending money.

A few of the issues Democrats have with this idea are one, the fact that Elon Musk was appointed to run it, and two, they feel they have too much power in looking at other agency’s. The democrats have claimed, once again, that this is not what the American people want nor do the feel Elon Musk is the right man for the job. Once again the Democrats are wrong. Most people, especially Republicans, agree with this program and think this is the right course of action. As far as Elon Musk, he was a big part of Donald Trump’s campaign and everyone who voted for him knew that he was going to be involved with Trump’s presidency.

DOGE has already faced legal ramifications because they feel them looking into government agencies and their finances is a security breach and invasion of privacy. The federal government is supposed to be working for us so how is looking into them an invasion of privacy? This is something that should have been done. Democrats also don’t agree with the staff that Elon Musk has hired in DOGE. Many of the staff Musk has hired are engineers with no government experience, some barely over the age 18. However, instead of looking into their age how about we look at their qualifications and whether or not they are able to handle the task.

Elon Musk has pledged that DOGE will be able to cut at least $1 trillion in spending. The direction our country has been headed this is something that we desperately needed. Democrats may not agree with the people running this department but it is hard for them to deny that this is needed. Accusations have been made that Trump has given Musk unlimited power that he is going to use to cut essential programs and for his own benefit. However, every move that Musk makes is being scrutinized and it would be hard for him to do anything that isn’t in the best interest of this Country.

The biggest tool Democrats have is fear, especially when it comes to Donald Trump. No matter what Trump does they claim that it is going to be detrimental to this country and going to hurt the American people. In order to scare people about DOGE they have told the American people that Trump is going to cut Medicare and Social Security. This is a claim that they continue to make and there has never been any evidence that this is going to happen.

Conclusion

Democrats still can’t seem to grasp that the way they operating is not working. The party needs to make changes and they are not willing to do it. They still believe there best tactic is to continue to attack Trump and try and turn the American people against him. They are not willing to look at problems they have in their own party, many of which they accuse Donald Trump of having. The last 4 years led the Donald Trump to win the election by an historic win. The people are ready for change and by not working with Donald Trump is only going to hurt there party more.

Uniting this country has been one of there biggest messages but every action they take is dividing this country. They are actively turning people against each other in order to hurt Trump. The problem I have is that they seem willing to destroy this country as long as it hurts Trump. When President Biden implemented his policies he told the people that they needed time before the people would see a change. Any policy change that is implemented is going to need change to work. Instead of writing off his policies from the start they need to work with Republicans to ensure they succeed.

Most people agree with the policies that have been implemented and the best way to bring this country together would be for everyone to get on board and work together to make them better. If the democrats disagree with certain aspects of his policies they need to work with republicans to make them better. The longer they continue this “attack Trump for everything” plan the worst off the party and the American people are. Right after the election they immediately started working on ways that the election was wrong and they know what the American people want more than they do. Our elections is the voice of the people and tell the government what they want. This election was as clear as can be on what the people wanted. Democrats are basically telling us that elections don’t matter, there policies are the best policies and they are going to do whatever they can to make sure they are enacted. I for one, am looking forward to the direction of this country and think we finally are on the right path, especially after getting through the last 4 years. It is time to let Donald Trump do what he was elected to do, his job.
