It seems like today that people don’t know the difference between immigration and illegal immigration. When Joe Biden first came into office one of the first things he did was overturn most of Trump’s immigration policies. He essentially created the effect of having open borders which led to record numbers of illegal border crossings, Illegal immigrants started to flood this country, costing tax payers a fortune. Many major cities in this country were becoming overwhelmed and struggling to house them. It wasn’t until recently that Biden created an executive order to stop the massive flow of illegal immigrants entering this country.

Donald Trump has stated that he will start mass deportations of illegal immigrants that are in this country. Because of this he has been accused of being against immigration and being a racist. I have heard many times that people who don’t want illegal immigrates in this country are against immigrants and think that we shouldn’t have any immigrants in this country. Democrats have forgotten the difference between entering the country legally and entering it illegally. Kamala Harris has stated in the past that there should be minimal consequences for people that are in this country illegally.

I do agree that most of the illegal immigrants that enter this country aren’t criminals and just want a better life. However, not all are and there are criminals crossing the border and because we have no way to track immigrants once they are in our country we have no idea where they are. We have a high enough crime rate in this country caused by citizens, we don’t need the added level because of people that aren’t supposed to be here. If someone wants to come to this country to have a better life and abide by our laws they should enter it legally. We shouldn’t be spending tax payer dollars trying to figure out what to do with the massive amount of illegal immigrants here, we should be deporting them. If they are here for the right reasons then they should go through the process to be here legally.

Illegal immigration has had a negative effect on Americans for a number of reasons. One of the biggest arguments I hear is the amount of criminals that are entering this country but it creates more problems than that, and the amount of criminals are a small number of the people here. Since Biden has taken office the amount of border crossings has seen record numbers. It wasn’t until recently that President Biden finally took action to tighten the borders. But it was too little too late, the damage was done. Sanctuary cities started getting flooded with buses of illegal immigrants that crossed the border. They were left with the problem of what to do with them, which cost taxpayers a ton of money.

Washington D.C., Chicago, and New York City were three of the most impacted cities. Mayor Eric Adams in New York City declared a state of emergency because of the amount of illegal immigrants that were bused in. Each of these cities used taxpayer dollars to house and feed the thousands of people that were bused in. In NYC many were put in hotels and a tent city was opened up for the males, which even provided entertainment centers. This problem was allowed to occur because President Biden overturned all of Trump’s immigration policies. These included the “remain in Mexico” policy, which sent people detained at the border back to Mexico, and the prosecution of anyone caught trying to illegally cross the border. This gave the message of our country having open borders and caused a massive influx of border crossing which led to these problems.

One of the biggest problems I had with this was the fact that we have never put that much effort into our own citizens who have no where to live. Our homeless population is looked at as a problem within our society and not much is done to help them, many of whom are veterans. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, is penalizing cities if they don’t close down homeless camps and get the homeless off the street. California welcomes illegal immigrants into its state with open arms but American citizens who are struggling and homeless, not his problem, just get out of his sight. If we can’t take care of our own citizens why are we expected to take care of people that aren’t even allowed in this country. If we feel like this then we are labeled a racist and ant-immigration.

Donald Trump has also made the campaign promise conducting mass deportations on illegal immigration. Democrats once again make the claim of being against immigration because of this, that most people already in this country illegally have done nothing to warrant deportation. Just being in this country illegally is enough of a reason to be deported. I do believe that most of them that are here are good people who have jobs and are trying to take of their families, just like most Americans. This doesn’t change the fact they are here illegally and our hurting our economy and costing taxpayers money.

Many think doing a mass deportation will hurt our country because a majority have jobs. Most are paid in cash and don’t pay taxes on the money they make which allows them to be paid at a much lower rate. If this no longer occurs than the price of certain products and services will have to be raised. This may be true but it doesn’t make it right and it isn’t a good enough reason to allow people just to remain in this country. This not only takes jobs away from citizens but prevents taxes being paid on the money made from these jobs. Democrats are wanting to raise the minimum wage because of the cost of living and that people can’t survive on minimum wage. But they feel it is okay for illegal immigrants to be paid at a rate that is sometimes less than minimum wage. To me this is another contradiction made by democrats to justify their arguments.

Some economists have made the claim that if Trump is elected and implements his mass deportations it will have a harmful effects on our workforce and industries. Mass deportations will cause inflation to rise, prices to rise, and hurt our economy. Many illegal immigrants work in the farming and construction sectors. If we were not able to pay them their tax-free low wages the cost of goods and housing would rise. This would make it harder to purchase a home and raise the cost of rent for tenants.

Democrats are also pushing for giving illegals medical insurance, at the cost of the taxpayer. Even if they didn’t have health insurance and have a medical emergency they are still seen by our medical services. The hospitals can send them a bill all they want but it will eventually be paid by the taxpayer. It is easier for an illegal immigrant to get help from our government than it is for citizens that actually need it. Many feel, including myself, that they have more rights than American citizens. Although illegal immigrants aren’t eligible for federal aid and programs such as food stamps and welfare, they still receive plenty of help from the federal government.

Instead of figuring out policies to stop illegal immigration and find them a legal path to citizenship democrats are working on policies beneficial to illegal immigrants. Sixteen states right now allow illegal immigrants to obtain a photo id and a driver license. When I got my driver’s license I had to show my birth certificate and social security card, neither of which illegal immigrants have, but they are still able to obtain one. Illegal immigrants can also obtain bank accounts and purchase homes. California is even trying to pass a policy that will allow them to receive a home loan. The next step is going to be allowing them to vote in our elections too.

These are a few of the reasons why I feel illegal immigrants have more rights and protections than American citizens. The federal government has spent millions of dollars making sure they are housed and something I have never seen in this country is a homeless person who is not a citizen. Our government is putting illegal immigrants in hotels and turning their back on veterans who are homeless. And they wonder why people have a problem with our immigration policy and illegal immigrants being in this country. Our government needs to come up with policies so we no longer have anyone in this country illegally, not policies that will make life for them better.

It is starting to feel like that if you live in this country you are better off being an illegal immigrant than a citizen. They are able to drive, work, and own property without having to pay taxes. The government doesn’t really know who is in this country or where they are. Who is to say that the name they are using is actually their real name. Citizens are forced to pay a large portion of their salary to taxes. Even though illegal immigrants do pay taxes every time they make a purchase, or when they buy a home, they don’t have to pay taxes on there salary, which accounts for almost 40% of tax money collected by the federal government. That is almost half of what is received, not a small amount and illegal immigrants aren’t contributing to this.

These are enough reasons why citizens should be upset with how our government is handling immigration in this country. Illegal immigration is harming our country and being against illegal immigration doesn’t mean you are against legal immigration. Not only does is it harmful to our economy but it is harmful to naturalized citizens in this country. It isn’t fair to the people who entered this country the right way and gained their citizenship and work legal jobs which they pay their taxes on. Many illegal immigrants will work in this country and send their money back to the country they are from. When they have enough they will then go back to their home countries. To me that is stealing from this country. They are stealing from the government by not paying taxes on the money they are sending back and they are stealing for the citizens in this country who could have had that job.

Claiming that you are a racist or against immigration if you don”t want illegal immigrants in this country is not a valid argument. Democrats make claims like this one to make republicans look like they are terrible people, that they will be harmful to this country. It is another way they make people feel afraid if Donald Trump is elected. Kamala Harris has constantly stated that she is going to be president for the American people but from her policies it doesn’t look like it to me. When she first took office as Vice President she was in charge of our illegal immigration problem. She did absolutely nothing except make the problem much worse, to where we are now. Yet she still wants the American people to believe that she is the best choice, that she will make things better. Because she has no real solution to fix the problem the only way she can get elected to is to scare people into thinking that Republicans are bad people who are racists and don’t want any immigrants in this county. Then, in the same breath, she will say that the misinformation and the lies coming from the republican party need to stop and are hurting our country.

Deporting illegal immigrants will allow for people to gain legal citizenship to this country. It will allow us to get rid of the criminals who don’t belong in this country. The benefits of having illegal immigrants in this country made by democrats do not outweigh the harmful effects it causes. It doesn’t mean that they should all be deported. Immigration is a benefit to this country and a path to citizenship should be found for many of ones that are here. However, if you are going to try and come here illegally and take advantage of this country there needs to be consequences. Donald Trump’s plan of mass deportations is for the American people and doesn’t make him a bigot, nor anyone else who feels the way he does. That is part of taking our country back.

I am against the illegal immigrants in this country but I am not against immigration. These constant attacks being made on Republicans are dividing this country and giving people a reason to hate republicans and think they are part of the problem. They are keeping racism and hated alive by making these accusation with nothing to back them up. They are constantly saying the rhetoric coming out of the Trump campaign is hurting the people in this country but they do nothing about there own rhetoric. The are empowering people to feel like there way is the only way and if you don’t believe in what they believe in then you are a hateful person. Not agreeing with their policies means you are against this country and a threat to democracy. People really need to open their eyes to what is going on this country, where the problems are, and what is best for this country moving forward. I am not saying I agree with everything Donald Trump says or does, but I do know not wanting illegal immigrants in this country does not make you a bigot or a racist.
